So, I was reading back through an old blog entry about how God used cake balls to help me reach my neighbors. God again was faithful to help me meet my neighbors at my new apartment complex. Two months back I was walking out to my car and noticed the rear driver's side door was slightly ajar. Scolding myself for being so irresponsible and not completely shutting the door I slid into the driver's seat and go to stick the key in the ignition. It won't go in. Someone had shoved xomething in the ignition and it had broken off. Feeling completely violated I ran back to my apartment and called the police and my insurance. Anyway, my GPS was stolen, but besides that nothing else was damaged. Thank goodness for AAA that was able to quickly pop what turned out to be a Ford key from the ignition with no cost to me.
What brought this story to my mind was that I ended up going around and knocking on people's doors to see if they had seen anything. I met an interesting lady who lives on the first floor and is basically a shut in. Since then I have learned that she is the source of all good information. She basically spies out her window all day or from her porch if it's nice out. I think she is a bit lonely because now that we are friends she always comes out to talk when I walk by. I also met a nice little family as well as a lovely Nigerian woman who shares a wall with me. Although getting my car broken into wasn't the most fun experience in my life, it was relatively painless and it gave me the opportunity to talk to my neighbors. Again, God provided a way for me to be missional.

Getting through
So, I posted recently about my awesome kids in my Sunday school class. Well, I saw one of my girls when I was out to dinner on Friday night. I said hi and her mom obviously didn't recognize me. As they walked past I heard the mom ask her daughter, "Do you know her?" And the 3 year old replied, "She teaches me about Jesus." Awesome. At least something is getting through!

Kids say the darndest things
So, I teach a 3 year old Sunday School class and each week the kids say some of the hilarious things. I decided since I never use my blog anymore I maybe should post these things so I don't forget.
- Today I asked one of the boys if he remembered the memory verse. His response: "Jesus."
- One of the boys prayers, "Thank you for Goldfish and Kermit the frog."
- Last week one of the boys praying for our snack he said, "Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross for my sins." Awesome coming from the mouth of a 3 yr olds.
